A message from Shire President Michelle Rich:

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to develop, I would like to provide an update about what we are doing at the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.

The safety, health and wellbeing of our local community, our customers and our staff is our main priority and we are taking a number of steps to ensure preparedness to minimise any disruption to our community.

Work being undertaken includes:

  • Established an internal COVID-19 Management Group and reviewing our Business Continuity Plan to ensure we can maintain essential services to our community.
  • Scheduling a special meeting of our Local Emergency Management Committee this Thursday, 19 March, to ensure the Shire is prepared in relation to emergency management.
  • Actively following the advice received from medical and government authorities to ensure we are equipped with the latest information.
  • Reviewing our Events Calendar to conform with the Australian Government’s requirement regarding public gatherings of over 500 people.

Community members intending to go to local events and gatherings should seek information from organisers directly to confirm details.

Please continue to follow WA Health’s website for the latest alerts and information regarding COVID-19.

Thank you for the part you are playing to help keep our community safe and for supporting one another as we navigate these unchartered waters together.

Regards

Cr Michelle Rich

President, Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale
