Be Bushfire Ready – Community Day

The Shire’s Be Bushfire Ready – Community Day is an opportunity for residents to:

  • learn more about being bushfire ready;
  • understand their responsibilities and requirements for preparing their property ahead of the upcoming bushfire season;
  • access resources and information; and
  • speak with emergency services workers and volunteers.

Come along and enjoy the following activities and Be Bushfire Ready!

  • Meet our bushfire brigade volunteers
  • Tips on preparing your property
  • Speak with our Emergency Services Team
  • Controlled burn demonstrations
  • Develop your own Bushfire Plan
  • Free sausage sizzle and kids activities

Did you know?

Around 97% of our Shire is declared as bush fire prone, which means that these areas being subject, or likely to be subject, to bushfire attack. 

Bush fire preparedness is a shared responsibility between the Shire, emergency service workers and volunteers and our community. With everyone playing their role, we can help reduce the risk of a fire event in the Shire.
