Cemeteries Advisory Group
Expressions of Interest are currently being sought from community members who have interest or lived experience relevant to the management and historical protection of cemeteries to join the Shire’s Cemeteries Advisory Group,
The Cemeteries Advisory Group consists of a total of ten (10) members:
- Two (2) Councillors appointed by Council. Two deputy members will be appointed by Council who will act as appointed members in the absence of appointed members; and
- Seven (7) community members.
The tenure expires at each ordinary Local Government election.
Function of the Cemeteries Advisory Group
The Cemeteries Advisory Group will provide input and advice:
- on the management of the two cemeteries that are under the jurisdiction of the Shire;
- future planning for Cemeteries; and
- on matters related to protecting the heritage of cemeteries and related infrastructure.
Meetings
Advisory Group meetings will be held twice-yearly at minimum and as required. Urgent meetings may be called by the Presiding Member or Advisory Group by request to the CEO.
Selection Criteria
Members are selected based on:
- Knowledge;
- Expertise;
- Community / lived experience; and
- Ability to attend meetings.
- Membership or affiliation to relevant community groups

To a submit an Expression of Interest, please provide a short statement that outlines why you wish to nominate for the advisory group, how you can contribute and what meeting times and days are generally most suitable for you. Submissions are open until 5pm Friday, 13 October 2023.
