Jarrahdale Entry Statement
The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale was seeking to engage an artist to design, develop and construct a new entry statement for the town of Jarrahdale that accurately represented the community of Jarrahdale while also acknowledging the history and culture of the area.
The Shire’s Public Art Assessment Panel met in late June to review submissions received for the Jarrahdale entry statement project.
Those who had made a submission were advised on Thursday, 27 June that the project was on hold. They were informed via email and/or phone call.
This was to allow the Shire to consider options for additional community engagement for the project.
The Shire is aware of the high community interest regarding the Jarrahdale entry statement.
We will continue to inform the community about next steps for the project and how they can have their say on the new Jarrahdale entry statement.
The money allocated for the project is recommended to be carried forward in the draft 2019/20 Annual budget, which will be considered by Council later this month.
