Citrus Wasp - Public Notice

Public Notice.

Citrus Wasp

Citrus Gall Wasp, a pest of citrus trees in commercial orchards and home gardens, arrived in WA in 2013 and is spreading rapidly. This wasp poses a threat to the citrus industry in WA.

While the wasp has only been found in the Perth Metropolitan area to date, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development are keen to keep this pest out of commercial orchards for as long as possible and require the assistance of our residents to do this.

Residents are encouraged to check their trees and use the department’s MyPestGuide Reporter app (mypestguide.agric.wa.gov.au/reporter) to report its presence or absence.

These reports help the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development keep track of the wasps spread.
