Byford’s new dog park needs a name and the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is putting the call out for residents to submit their suggestions.

In December 2018, the Council approved the reserve at the corner of Larsen Road and Sansimeon Boulevard, Byford, as the site for the new dog exercise area with construction scheduled to commence in June.

Shire President Michelle Rich said the name competition for the park was part of Council’s commitment to ensure the community continued to be involved in the project and looked forward to receiving ideas on what to name the park.

“I am sure residents will have a lot of fun with their ideas of what the park should be named,” Cr Rich said.

People who submit a suggestion will go in the running to win a $500 gift card, with a preferred name recommended to Council, who will make the final decision on the park’s name.

The name competition opens 9am, Monday, 3 June and closes 5pm Monday, 17 June.

To submit your suggestion, click here or complete a hard copy form which is available at the Shire’s administration building, 6 Paterson Street, Mundijong.
