Code of Conduct
In accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 every Western Australian local government is to prepare and adopt a code of conduct to be observed by Elected Members, Committee Members and employees.
The Code of Conduct for Councillors and Employees sets out principles and standards of behaviour that Elected Members, Committee Members and employees must observe when performing their duties and details explanatory matters around the key areas of:
- Our values
- The way we do business
- How we treat others
- Conflicts of interest
The Code of Conduct for Councillors and Employees must be read in conjunction with the Local Government Act 1995, the Local Government (Rules of Conduct) Regulations 2007 and other legislation that affect Elected Members, Committee Members and employees while performing their role and duties and the Code does not override or affect those provisions or requirements.
