Richardson Street, Serpentine
Roadworks commence January 2018.
The Shire is working in conjunction with Main Roads Western Australia to ensure the safety and integrity of the Richardson Street timber bridge.
Works are expected to begin on 15 January 2018 and will include the replacement of much of the timber structure with a steel structure, routine maintenance and the construction of slabs on approach. This will increase the bridge life and maintain the weight loading of the bridge so it can continue to be used by a wide range of vehicles.
The total cost of repairs to the Richardson Street Bridge is $500,000 of which two thirds will be funded by the Federal Government and one third from Main Roads Western Australia.
It is expect that works will take 12 weeks with completion early April 2018.
