Approximately 97% of our Shire has been designated bushfire prone as part of State Government reform.

Bushfire Prone Areas

In December 2015 the State Government announced reform to help protect life and property in the event of a bush-fire. 
Areas within the State were mapped and declared "Bush-Fire Prone". You can check your property using the link below. 
The map is used as a trigger to determine if additional requirements are required prior to the construction of your building.

Subdivision

Subdivision within the Shire can also attract some fees for the installation and up keep of static water supplies, maintenance of fire hydrant marking, vehicle and fire stations. 

Rural Numbering 

Rural Street Numbering has been implemented within the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale in accordance with the Australian Standard and Landgate. The aim is to supply a uniform address number to every rural and semi-rural property in the Shire. Local Governments assign and install rural property addresses in the Shire to meet its obligations under the Local Government Act 1995 and to assist all Emergency Services, Police and Fire Brigade to ensure you are located as quickly as possible in the event of an emergency.
