About the Library

A great DVD collection, magazines, e-readers, audio books, internet and access to computers compliments the Library's assortment of books.

Voted as WA's Favourite Library in 2014, Mundijong Public Library offers a wide range of resources and services to the community.

Various programs are run throughout the year, both in the Library and in other locations across the Shire.

Joining the Library

You don't have to be a member to visit the Library. Membership is free, and is only required if you'd like to borrow items. All you need to join is proof of your current residential address (such as your driver's licence or a recent bill). You will be given your Library card, and can borrow items straightaway.

Borrowing Items

Members can borrow up to 20 items for up to 3 weeks. If no one else reserves the items, you can renew your loan in person, by phone or email. If your items aren't overdue, you can also renew them through our online catalogue.

Items can be renewed (provided no one else wants them) in person, by phone or email. Or if they are not overdue you can also renew them online via our new online catalogue.

The Library doesn't just have books for loan, you can borrow magazines, audio-books, DVD's and even puzzles!

House Bound Customers

Books on Wheels

For library members who are housebound and are unable to visit , The Library offers a delivery to people in their homes .Volunteers from SJ Library Friends deliver resources to people’s homes  on a fortnightly basis.

Library Visits

Home Help Local assists people who are unable to drive with a fortnightly visit to the library. Customers will be collected from their homes in the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale to visit the library. They are able to select their items, have a cuppa and a chat before being driven home. Available at the Library

Free WiFi

Wi-Fi is provided free by the shire and can be accessed from the Library. A maximum of 200MB can be used for up to 2 hours per day.

Free public use computers

Two free public use computers are available within the Library. You can access emails, surf the internet, word process and scan / send documents. The computers can be booked in advance. Feel free to ring us on 9526 1133 if you wish to do so.

Printer facilities

The Library has printer facilities. A4 black-and-white costs 25 ¢ per page and 70 ¢ per page for colour. We can also print in A3, 50 ¢ per page for black-and-white, $1.30 per page for colour. The printers can print directly from USB, via the public use computers or you can use wireless access if you have a mobile device (Apple only).

Volunteering at the Mundijong Public Library

Volunteers are vital to Mundijong Public Library, which is part of the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale (SJ) community. Volunteering gives you the opportunity to become an active member of the SJ community, while helping others and yourself. Volunteering not only enhance your learning skills, social skills, but also your overall psychological well-being and self-confidence. According to LGIS, 2012, Volunteering “is an activity undertaken to be of benefit to the community and the volunteer; of the volunteer’s own, free will and without coercion; for no financial payment other than reimbursement of expenses, and in a designated volunteer position only”.
