Volunteerism is performing an act of kindness, freely giving of your talent, time, and effort for the simple fulfillment of community expectations.
Volunteerism is the willingness of people to work on behalf of others without being motivated by financial or material gain. Volunteers may have special training as rescuers, guides, assistants, teachers, radio operators. But the majority work on an impromptu basis, recognising a need and filling it, from fire fighting or searching for a lost child, to giving directions to a lost visitor.
Volunteer today! You will be surprised at the level of personal satisfaction you will feel, not to mention the nationally recognised skills you will develop. Many of the volunteers mention how it has been a great way to meet other community members and build resilience within their community.
