Project 28

Project 28 is a new initiative which will improve every aspect of the land development process.

Project 28 will seek to:

  • Produce better outcomes on the ground for our community
  • Improve levels of customer service
  • Ensure more efficient and effective working relationships with stakeholders
  • Develop stronger relationships between the community, development industry and government agencies
  • Enable Council to respond positively and constructively to planning reform occurring at State and National government levels

As part of Project 28 we are actively pursuing the following targets to enable faster responses:

  • 28 days for providing subdivision referral responses to the WA Planning Commission
  • 28 days for the initial assessment of local structure plans
  • 28 days for the assessment of development applications

(where advertising and/or further information is not required)

  • 28 day average turnaround for all development applications
  • 28 days for the programming of land administration matters
  • 14 day maximum for subdivision clearances
  • Development applications to be lodged and tracked electronically by mid-2011
