10 May 2017
Library Information Week 490 x 290

Library and Information Week 2017 comes to the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale as the Mundijong Public Library travels out and about in the community.

A pop-up library will be available at the Byford Village Shopping Centre on Monday 22 May and Friday 26 May from 12 noon to 4pm, as well as Tuesday 23 May from 9am to 1pm. Come and find out about your library and the many services the Mundijong Public Library provides, it’s not just about books!

This year’s theme is Celebrate, so why not come and celebrate with us in the National Simultaneous Story Time at the Mundijong Playgroup as we read a classic children’s favourite, ‘The Cow Tripped Over the Moon’ on Wednesday 24 May at 9.30am.

We will also be drawing the winner of the ‘30 books to read before you’re 3’ competition on Friday 19 May.

Manager of Library Services, Mrs Lisa Keys said the library has evolved into a social community space.

“Libraries provide quality information services that support lifelong learning including books, e-books, DVDs, CDs as well as a relaxed environment to socialise and research.”

Library and Information Week has been organised by the Australian Library and Information Association and aims to raise the profile of libraries by showcasing the many and varied resources and services that libraries provide to the community.
