Shire Chief Executive Officer Kenn Donohoe said the Shire’s ranger service offers support to the community in a number of ways including litter control, off-road vehicle complaints, animal control and straying stock, illegal camping on council reserves and parking management in public places.

The Shire’s ranger service will now operate across a seven-day roster with extended hours Monday to Friday from 7am-6pm. Weekend and public holiday hours will be 8.30am-5pm (except Good Friday and Christmas Day holidays).

Mr Donohoe said the new roster was aimed at increasing the Shire’s presence within the community and providing greater support outside of standard office hours.

“Often there are matters that occur on weekends that need attending to, and we hope that having this service available will allow us to be more responsive and address things in a more timely manner,” Mr Donohoe said.

“By having our ranger service operating seven days a week, we hope this will allow us to pro-actively address issues for the benefit and safety of our community.”

During standard officer hours, the ranger service can be contacted on 9526 1136.

Outside of standard office hours, the ranger service can be contacted via the Shire’s after-hours call centre on 9526 1111 or direct on 9526 1136 (if diverted to a message bank, please leave a clear message with contact details).
