In recognition of the Australia-wide launch for the National Year of Reading 2012 campaign, Mundijong Public Library invites you to join in the celebrations and help set a new library record on Library Lovers Day, Tuesday 14 February.

Mundijong Public Library will be hosting their official launch on Library Lovers Day at 9.30am and are aiming to set a new record for the most people to visit the library in one day. Throughout the day, which runs until 7pm, visitors to the library will be treated to a free cup of tea, coffee or juice and the first 200 people through the door will receive a free chocolate book mark.

Shire President Bruce Moore said Library Lovers Day is a great way to kick off the National Year of Reading campaign in the Shire.

"Library Lovers Day is not only in recognition of 2012 as the National Year of Reading, but also Mundijong Public Library's 40th anniversary," Cr Moore said.

"Our library is more than a place to borrow books from. It serves as an important community hub that caters for people of all ages, from babies to seniors.

"To celebrate their milestone, Mundijong Public Library will be commencing their photographic competition, Caught Reading, on Library Lovers Day.

"In addition to the launch of the photographic competition, library visitors are encouraged to contribute to the library's Top 40 list to discover which book and author they love the most as well as why they love their library.

"Whether you are an avid reader or are just discovering the joys of reading, National Year of Reading 2012 is a good chance to get to know your local library."
