The Department of Immigration and Citizenship is the first place you need to call to become an Australian citizen.
Information on becoming an Australian citizen can be obtained from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship on 131 880 or online.
They will be able to advise you what costs are involved, the documents you will need and how the appeal process works.
Citizenship ceremoniesOnce your application has been approved by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, you will be invited to attend a citizenship ceremony at the Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire council offices.
Serpentine Jarrahdale citizenship ceremonies are held approximately every two months. A special citizenship ceremony is held each year as part of our Australia Day celebrations on 26 January.
For further information please email Debra Baldwin at the Shire or phone 9526 1161.
If required, a private ceremony can be arranged through the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. However these are arranged for urgent circumstances only. Please contact the Department of Immigration and Citizenship on 131 880 for additional information regarding urgent and private ceremonies.
